Andrea Soto-Camacho

Architectural & Interior Designer

Andrea is an interior and architectural designer. She went to UCLA for design school and also holds a B.A in International Business.  She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two teenagers.

Andrea was born and raised in Costa Rica with a big tight-knit family.  Her grandpa, who she was very close to, was a furniture designer whose pieces still adorn churches and public spaces across the country .

In 2010 she designed and patented the storage beanbag and opened a home goods business www.mimishDesigns.com winning numerous design awards and obtaining 11 more utility and design patents. Her merchandise was sold in Bed Bath and Beyond, Nordstroms, Macy’s, Sam’s Club, and many more.  Andrea sold mimish in 2019. Just in time for the Covid pandemic.

Over the quarantine in 2020, Andrea started tinkering with old pieces of furniture, making them feel fresh and modern. Word got out. She then started doing custom projects for people around the city, eventually expanding to kitchens, bathrooms and entire homes.

What sets Andrea apart from other designers is her ability to see the possibilities with what’s already there. This minimizes cost and time.

Andrea works with her own trusted team of super professional builders, and supervises the project from start to finish. You can see the before/after transformations on her Instagram page.
